What a pet net needs
- Mesh of 20–25 mm so paws and heads cannot pass through.
- High-tensile nylon that resists claw pull — a light bird net will not survive a determined cat.
- Full-height coverage from floor to slab, with no gap at the top rail.
- Reinforced border cable, because pets apply repeated point loads at the bottom edge.
Cats vs dogs
Cats climb, so the top edge matters most. Dogs push and lean, so the bottom fixing and the border cable matter most. We spec the net differently based on which you have — and use the stronger option in homes with both.
Will it ruin the balcony?
Transparent netting keeps the view and the airflow, and the whole enclosure is removable. In rented flats we use non-drill clamp fixings where the structure allows, so nothing is permanently altered.
